IV Sedation, known as general anesthesia, is intravenously injected and reduces consciousness therefore, relieving anxiety and pain during a procedure.

Local anesthesia is administered in two different forms, topical or injected. The topical anesthetic is applied to the tissues to prevent pain on the surface of the area. It is usually first applied to the gums to minimize the pain of an injected anesthetic. An injected anesthetic is applied directly into mouth tissues in order to numb the area in preparation for filling cavities, root canals, crowns and periodontal disease.
